Our Classes:

Little Samurai Ages 4-6

Curriculum in this program is specifically designed for children ages 4-6 with a emphasis on gross motor skills and learning the basics of Karate. They learn to focus their attention and channel their energy in a fun and safe atmosphere. New white belts work with an instructor in a small semi-private group for about a month before joining the larger group.

Youth Basic Ages 7-14

This class is for beginners only (white and yellow belts). Students learn their Karate basics as well as how to focus, improve balance, coordination and body awareness. Every week we have a mat chat on a different subject that relates to positive character development and life skills. New white belts work with an instructor in a small semi-private group for about a month before joining the larger group.

Youth Intermediate

The intermediate class is for our youth Orange, Blue, Green and Purple belts. Students graduate into this class after Basic. During this class students learn more partner drills, self defense, pad combinations and intermediate Katas (forms). We also introduce board breaking (safe plastic rebreakable boards) which builds confidence, power and is a lot of fun!

Adult Basic & Advanced

Our adult class is for ages 14 and up. The primary adult class is all levels, however, advanced students have separate time to work weapons during extended classes on Wednesdays and Thursday evenings. Adults learn Karate basics, practical self-defense, pad drills and Katas (forms). We can work around preexisting injuries and many physical limitations. New white belts are given semi-private training with a black belt instructor for their first couple weeks to learn the basics.

Youth Advanced

This class is for youth Brown and Jr. Black belts. Students graduate to this class from intermediate. In our style there are 3 degrees of brown belt, so a lot of curriculum is covered in this class. Students learn takedowns, more advanced self defense and pad drills, as well as traditional Okinawan and Japanese weaponry. They also get to do more advanced board breaking.
